It’s hard not to think about suffering these days. I used to be a news junkie of sorts. Today I can hardly bear watching. It cannot leave us unaffected, no matter how much we give or how little we expose ourselves to it. It’s in the air we breathe. And perhaps that is exactly as it’s supposed to be. We are one on this planet. What affects one affects all. When one hurts, we all hurt.
So how do we rise above this? How do we stay afloat and march forward as so many people have in the past?
With love.
What do you think would happen if suddenly everyone, no matter what their situation, just decided to make the best of it, lovingly?
That may sound absurd in the face of the level of tragedy we see today, but even in the worst of situations there are people who somehow kick into action and make the best of it. And they inspire the next person who inspires the next person, and so on. It works miracles and it’s something we can avail ourselves of in this very moment.
…..truly our choice.
I’ve spoken of leaping over the hurdles of life and recognising that as being the ultimate goal. The more you prepare for it mentally, the less challenged you’ll be when you’re faced with your next challenge. And you can EXPECT there to be more challenges, no matter what situation you find yourself in. How will you choose to face them?
As a musician, mental headspace is very important in performance and composition. It’s especially important as a vocalist. You could say Human Beings don’t perform well without getting into the right headspace, no matter what the task.
I think it’s time we all got into the right mental headspace because there is a lot of healing to take place. I do believe that one day we’ll be able to breathe a sigh of peace, if we all finally figure out it’s up to all of us to just decide we’re going to make it happen.
If you’re not inclined to making the best of things, I challenge you to a paradigm shift. Even in the direst of circumstances, that simple shift in behaviour could open the biggest doors and lay out the biggest lessons on our tables.
Wishing you a week of making the best of it, no matter what your circumstance.
When one heals, we all heal.
