Dear Planet Earth,
As I gaze out my window this morning looking at the fall splendor and cuddling my morning tea because I’m freezing – I am filled with JOY.
From the time I was a little girl I could find solace in your beauty. I could breathe your fine air, dance in your forests and gaze upon your beautiful waters feeling truly blessed to be here amongst your graces.
It is with great sadness that I read about some of the things happening to you – the human race’s relentless quest to rob you of your resources, which you graciously lay out for us, the utter irresponsibility of nations that have chosen to completely destroy your landscapes in the name of war.
Forgive me for any part I might have played in it – even unknowingly. I pray for clarity of thought for all humanity. I pray for an open discussion about what works for all of humanity instead of these fragmented self serving nations that are all lined up to win the race.
I shed a tear for you Planet Earth. But even through all of this destruction and chaos on your surface, I can still take a stroll down to my favourite place by the lake and drink up your beauty and your peace. I can feel your power and your hope for better times. I can feel the possibilities of a complete reversal in the blindness of humanity towards you. I can feel your joy.

One day,
all the people with their fingers stuffed in their ears singing la, la, la, la, la
are going to be touched by you. I know your magic will prevail.
I love you Planet Earth,
for your wisdom, for your beauty,
for your tremendous patience and your ability to forgive.
